Awards on the national day of 15 March

On 15 March, Hungary’s President of the Republic handed over awards on the national day of 15 March. Several colleagues of our School are on the list published in the Magyar Közlöny (Hungarian Official Gazette).

In recognition of his internationally recognized achievements in the field of vascular surgery, especially in the research of venous diseases, and the quality of his teaching and exemplary professional public life activities, Professor Gábor Menyhei, vascular surgeon and general surgeon specialist, head of the University of Pécs Clinical Center Department of Vascular Surgery

was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit, civilian division.

 

In recognition of his outstanding, internationally recognized research achievements in bioanalysis and separation science, and his teaching and science organization activities Professor Ferenc Kilár, Doctor of Biological Sciences, former head of the University of Pécs Medical School Institute of Bioanalysis and the Faculty of Sciences Institute of Chemistry, in recognition of his internationally successful, many decades of professional activities involving a number of successful major university investments

was awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit, civilian division.

 

In recognition of his excellent research and teaching work in the many disciplines of medicine, particularly in the fields of anatomy, histology and developmental biology, and science organization activities Professor Gyula Lázár neurobiologist, Doctor of Medicine, professor emeritus at the University of Pécs Medical School Department of Anatomy

was awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit, civilian division.

 

In recognition of his achievements in the treatment of oral diseases and in the training of professional physician supply during his outstanding medical, scientific and teaching career Professor Lajos Olasz, Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, professor emeritus at the University of Pécs

was awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit, civilian division.

 

In recognition of his high quality clinical and teaching work and his research in the field of occupational medicine dr. Gergely Fehér neurologist, leading research associate professor at the University of Pécs Clinical Center Center for Occupational Medicine and Work Health

was awarded the Golden Cross of the Hungarian Cross of Merit, civilian class.
